“Streets Reimagined interpreted and implemented our brief with imagination and enthusiasm. Members and officers were consulted and kept informed by the team throughout the development of the report and it has proven to be a great catalyst for discussions about improvements in Stroud town centre”
Cllr Stella Parkes Chair of the Stroud Regeneration Working Group
As part of Stroud Town Council’s Street Spaces initiative, the team engaged the local community and developed proposals to make it easier and safer to walk and cycle in the town-centre. This included proposals to create a network of cycleways and new public spaces including around the centrally located Subscription Rooms Theatre.
Our inclusive multi-method research approach included research interviews and focus groups with diverse users including young people, dementia carers and business owners. We also hosted a pop-up street stall event and used online engagement tools.
The proposals have supported the town council, in partnership with the district and county council, to make funding applications to take forward a number of the key proposals.
